It has been a great pleasure to have the opportunity to work with so many homeowners, sellers and investors over the years. Here are what a few of them have to say about their experience.

Last week was the closing of the first house I have ever owned & sold. Marilyn took all the stress away from selling a lifelong investment. I was amazed how Marilyn presented our house & how quickly the sale was completed. This process is not easily done in the middle of a pandemic & nearby street rioting. She came highly recommended by a former neighbor and she did not disappoint us. I would highly recommend using Marilyn if you are considering selling your home.

In my over 40 years of living in Seattle, I have sold five residences in four different neighborhoods. It’s been quite an education. In 2013, we met Marilyn Smith when we were considering selling our family home in Arboretum Heights. She came highly recommended, and she contributed a number of creative ideas on how to maximize the sale. With some elbow grease and attention to detail, the house was listed and sold promptly. We closed the transaction in a Notary office in the Bahamas where we were on an extended vacation. Marilyn handled a number of construction-related issues that arose in the house inspection, and as the daughter of a contractor, got the work done efficiently and cost effective.
Seven years later, we prepared to sell my wife’s house that had been rented for a few years after we moved back to the East Coast. There was no question who we would use to represent us as our listing broker: Marilyn Smith. This time the COVID pandemic disrupted our plans and forced us to paint and upgrade the house, stage and correct a number of issues from our house inspection, and then move a household full of goods remotely. So much effort goes into the preparation for a successful sale and Marilyn handled it all. In the middle of the pandemic of 2020, the house sold in a week with a full price offer. We couldn’t be more pleased with Marilyn’s work.
In summary, Marilyn is market savvy, with a great understanding of the mechanics of executing a successful sale of a property, but her greatest strength to us was to handle all the large and small issues that crop up WHILE WE WERE LOAFING IN THE BAHAMAS or SELF-SEQUESTERED 3000 MILES AWAY FROM SEATTLE IN THE HAMPTONS!

Chances are good that if you are reading this Testimonial page on Marilyn Smith’s Real Estate website, you will know other contributors, or know someone who does. The mark of a successful business professional can be measured by the extent and convergence of their client referrals and Marilyn has an impressive following – many of whom remain in contact with her socially years after the experience. Having purchased, sold and exchanged numerous personal and rental residential and commercial properties in Washington, California, and Virginia over nearly fifty years, I have encountered dozens of Sellers’ and Buyers’ agents who barely understood the basics of their profession, and even less about working with their clients to negotiate and consummate a transaction in which everyone involved was completely satisfied. Most understood List & Sell, but little about such important ancillary matters as market trends, community CC&Rs, property zoning, creative financing, improvements and landscaping, escrow, etc. Marilyn considers every property together with Seller and Buyer to critically appraise both sides of a potential sale. Then she works diligently to negotiate the best terms for her client. Her approach is intuitive, curious, and creative; and her affable style keeps all serious parties at the table to a mutually satisfactory conclusion. My wife and I have recommended Marilyn to our trusted friends and we look forward to seeing their comments here in future years. Thanks Marilyn!

Marilyn is top notch. Her levels of patience and understanding are what my wife and I love about her. She is always available via phone, text or email. The key to her success: Marilyn truly cares about her clients. She provided a staging consultant and pre-inspection on her own. She also hosted three open houses in a three-day span. We’ve truly enjoyed partnering with her and will use her services in the future.

Marilyn, thank you for everything! We’re in a bit of shock over what took place. The end results exceeded our expectations. Of course, we’re pleased. Your negotiating skills are amazing. Thank you!
You’ve set a new standard! Having an “Offer Date” was very smart and getting the coverage in the PSBJ was brillant. That reached the right audience.

Marilyn is a consummate professional. She was a strategic thinker on two real estate transactions we did with her in the last three years. She successfully executed a competitive bidding process in which we bought our downtown condo in 2012 and two years later she assisted us in selling our longtime home in Mt. Baker.
We are both architects, and working with someone who understands design and style was essential for us. She was knowledgeable, helpful and patient every step of the way. I would recommend her to anyone in need of real estate services.

Marilyn helped me price, stage and advertise my Madison Park home with expert photography, an exciting sales piece and multiple open houses until i was able to get the offer we both felt the house deserved . Persistent and professional. Thanks Marilyn!

I grew up in a Frank Lloyd Wright/Taliesin home and was raised to appreciate the clean lines of a mid-century home. After a year of looking at every mid-century that came on the market with Marilyn, I was thrilled when she called me the very morning a beautifully updated mid-century came on the market. We rushed over to check it out, made an offer, and four years later, my family and I have Marilyn to thank for finding the home we love.

You listed and sold the 35th Ave South perfectly. No problem here as a reference!
